Welcome to 28leadershipGroup. It is the brainchild of Robert Williams, an enthusiast and expert learner on the process of leadership. Recently, I re-entered college to receive a graduate degree in counseling adults in higher education. My pursuit of additional education was a direct result of the country’s economic down slide of the previous three years. In my attempts to determine a specific area of studies I came across Joseph C. Rost provocative book, “Leadership for the Twenty-First Century.” As my bio indicates I have experienced what Rost defines as leadership in his provocative book for over 35 years.
What is Leadership?
“Leadership is a process of mutual influences which exists among a group of individuals who are purposely-driven to intend real changes from current circumstances.“
28LeadershipGroup continues to examine this phenomena define as leadership originally defined by Rost. I believe we work together to reach our common purposes. This definition of leadership encapsulated my life long before I found the scholarship of Rost. We do things as a team; there is no, “Lone Ranger” who saves the day. We save the day, we are the leaders.
28LeadershipGroup examines the complexities of defining leadership. We do not proclaim scholarship which describes effective leadership as did not Rost, we only examine the phenomenon known as leadership. A plethora of leadership gurus, books and training apparatuses seek to develop the “Leader” in you. More time than not, these shell games fuse the definition of leader and leadership as being synonymous.
They are not.
